Barbara Pilarski joins Archer’s Board of Directors and will play key role as company looks to scale up its operations

Archer has announced the appoint­ment of Bar­bara Pilars­ki to its Board of Direc­tors, who is cur­rent­ly Glob­al Head of Busi­ness Devel­op­ment at Stel­lan­tis and will now serve as an inde­pen­dent direc­tor and on Archer’s Nom­i­nat­ing and Cor­po­rate Gov­er­nance Com­mit­tee.

Pilars­ki is a sea­soned leader with more than 35 years’ expe­ri­ence in the auto­mo­tive sec­tor and has a diverse back­ground in the areas of busi­ness devel­op­ment, finance and human resources.

Brett Adcock, co-founder and co-CEO of Archer, said: “We couldn’t be hap­pi­er that Bar­bara, with her mul­ti­fac­eted expe­ri­ence, has cho­sen to join the Archer board as we con­tin­ue on our jour­ney to change the future of trans­porta­tion.

“Defin­ing indus­try-chang­ing part­ner­ships will be a core com­po­nent of our strat­e­gy in the next few years and we’re look­ing for­ward to real­is­ing the ben­e­fit of Barbara’s wealth of tal­ents in this area.”

Archer has advo­cat­ed for build­ing a strong eVTOL ecosys­tem since its incep­tion, with man­u­fac­tur­ing oper­a­tions a promi­nent piece of that puz­zle.

Archer teamed up with Fiat Chrysler Auto­mo­biles (FCA) in Jan­u­ary 2021, where it said in a press release that it was ben­e­fit­ing from its ‘low-cost sup­ply chain, advanced com­pos­ite mate­r­i­al capa­bil­i­ties and engi­neer­ing and design expe­ri­ence’. In Octo­ber 2021, FCA and French auto giant PSA com­plet­ed a merg­er to cre­ate a new com­pa­ny called Stel­lan­tis. This part­ner­ship has result­ed in set­ting the foun­da­tion for man­u­fac­tur­ing oper­a­tions to begin in 2023.

Pilars­ki joins Deb­o­rah Diaz, for­mer CTO and deputy CIO of NASA, Maria Pinel­li, for­mer Glob­al Vice Chair of E&Y, Fred Diaz, for­mer CEO of Mit­subishi Motors North Amer­i­ca, Oscar Munoz, for­mer Unit­ed Air­lines Chair­man and CEO, Michael Spel­la­cy, CEO of Atlas Crest Invest­ment Corp, plus co-founders and co-CEOs Adcock and Adam Gold­stein.

Pilars­ki said: “Archer is at the fore­front of a new indus­try with great poten­tial to change the way peo­ple live and trav­el. I am excit­ed to be in a posi­tion to lever­age my expe­ri­ence to help Archer scale its busi­ness.”
