Barbara Pilarski joins Archer’s Board of Directors and will play key role as company looks to scale up its operations
Archer has announced the appointment of Barbara Pilarski to its Board of Directors, who is currently Global Head of Business Development at Stellantis and will now serve as an independent director and on Archer’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
Pilarski is a seasoned leader with more than 35 years’ experience in the automotive sector and has a diverse background in the areas of business development, finance and human resources.
Brett Adcock, co-founder and co-CEO of Archer, said: “We couldn’t be happier that Barbara, with her multifaceted experience, has chosen to join the Archer board as we continue on our journey to change the future of transportation.
“Defining industry-changing partnerships will be a core component of our strategy in the next few years and we’re looking forward to realising the benefit of Barbara’s wealth of talents in this area.”
Archer has advocated for building a strong eVTOL ecosystem since its inception, with manufacturing operations a prominent piece of that puzzle.
Archer teamed up with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) in January 2021, where it said in a press release that it was benefiting from its ‘low-cost supply chain, advanced composite material capabilities and engineering and design experience’. In October 2021, FCA and French auto giant PSA completed a merger to create a new company called Stellantis. This partnership has resulted in setting the foundation for manufacturing operations to begin in 2023.
Pilarski joins Deborah Diaz, former CTO and deputy CIO of NASA, Maria Pinelli, former Global Vice Chair of E&Y, Fred Diaz, former CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America, Oscar Munoz, former United Airlines Chairman and CEO, Michael Spellacy, CEO of Atlas Crest Investment Corp, plus co-founders and co-CEOs Adcock and Adam Goldstein.
Pilarski said: “Archer is at the forefront of a new industry with great potential to change the way people live and travel. I am excited to be in a position to leverage my experience to help Archer scale its business.”
