Eve Air Mobility signs agreements with Aviair, HeliSpirit and Microflite and increases order book for its eVTOL aircraft
Eve Air Mobility has announced several partnerships with companies at this year’s Singapore Airshow, which includes orders for up to 90 of its eVTOL aircraft.
The first announcement is with Aviair and HeliSpirit, part of HM Consolidated Group, with the collaboration contemplating an order of up to 50 aircraft with flights in Australia commencing from 2026 by Aviair or HeliSpirit.
These two companies are multi-award winning operators which serve some of Western Australia’s most iconic tourist attractions in the Kimberley, South-West, and Greater Perth regions. The new partnership will add Eve’s eVTOL aircraft to their existing fleet of more than 50 rotary and fixed-wing aircraft.
Michael McConachy, Aviair and HeliSpirit Managing Director, said, “This year marks 20 years of HeliSpirit being eco-accredited as a green travel leader, entering us into the Eco Tourism Australia Hall of Fame, so this is great timing to commit to significantly reducing our carbon footprint by operating zero-emission electric aircraft.”
“Eve’s eVTOL technology is well-aligned with our business model and desire to be at the forefront of carbon-neutral solutions for the aviation industry. The low-noise footprint of the aircraft makes them particularly well-suited to operations in sensitive natural settings, including national parks and World Heritage-listed areas, as well as for urban transfers providing quick and efficient solutions for both business and tourism travellers.”
The second announcement announced at the Singapore Air Show was an order for up to 40 eVTOL aircraft with Microflite, one of Australia’s main helicopter operators, to support the implementation of new urban air mobility operations in the country by 2026.
Microflite and Eve plan to begin their partnership using helicopters as a proof of concept to validate parameters that will apply to future eVTOL operations. This partnership also aims to develop new services and procedures that will create a safe and scalable operating environment for eVTOL operations together with communities and other industry stakeholders.
Jonathan Booth, CEO of Microflite, said: “This order builds on the successful partnership we have established with Eve and validates the exciting potential of zero-emission aircraft in Australia. After working closely with Eve over the past few months, we have identified a network of potential routes and we look forward to working with commercial partners and communities to prioritise these routes and trial selected operations with our existing fleet.”
Microflite Helicopter Services operates the largest fleet of turbine helicopters in Victoria, Australia and focuses on premium tours, charter flights, pilot training, and emergency services. Its iconic red aircraft have become a familiar sight in the skies over Melbourne and its surroundings.
Commenting on both partnerships, Andre Stein, co-CEO of Eve, added: ““This initiative is a significant milestone for Eve. Our partnership opens up an important market in Western Australia that will see our aircraft serving Australia’s iconic tourist attractions with zero-emission and low-noise flights. We share a common vision of a carbon-neutral future for air mobility, supported by Eve’s eVTOL, comprehensive service and support network, and air traffic management solutions.
“Our partnership with Microflite will see progressive commencement of carbon-neutral operations in the lead-up to first deliveries of zero-emission aircraft in 2026. We look forward to learning together and building safe and scalable operations with the support of local communities.”
