Taking place tomorrow (Friday) from 4pm-5.30pm BST, the free-to-attend event consists of two 30-minute networking sessions and then two 15-minute presentations from Julie Garland, founder and CEO of Avtrain, and Sam Hill, AAM Marketing and Business Development Manager at Solvay.
Avtrain’s mission is to encourage prolific drone operations and keep the skies safe through certification and the highest standards of training. It hold an approval as Recognised Entity issued by the Irish Aviation Authority for the grant of EASA Open A2 and all Specific Category Authorisations, Declarations & Light UAS operator Certificate (LUC).
Julie is a former airline training captain, aircraft maintenance engineer, barrister at law, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and prior to undertaking her position as CEO of Avtrain, she was the Director Compliance for Norwegian Air International. She is the Chair of the Unmanned Aircraft Association of Ireland and sits on the Board of Directors of JEDA – Joint European Drone Associations as the Irish representative.
While Solvay has a broad portfolio of aerospace solutions, including thermoset and thermoplastic composites, speciality polymers, structural adhesives and functional films. The company says this is what makes it an ideal material supplier for urban air mobility and advanced air mobility customers. And one of those customers is Vertical Aerospace, which Solvay will support by supplying composite and adhesive technologies for its eVTOL aircraft.
Sam has more than 18 years of technical experience in the high performance composite market, serving a diverse and global customer base in Large Commercial Transport, Rotorcraft, Defence and Advanced Air Mobility sectors.
