PODCAST: Michael Thompson of SKYFLY Technologies talks about its Axe two-seater personal aircraft

Our next podcast episode is now live! This week, we were joined by Michael Thompson, co-founder and CEO of SKYFLY Technologies. The company is developing its personal two-seater electric aircraft, called Axe, and plans to begin full-scale manned test flights next year.

Michael started his career as a helicopter pilot, before transitioning into UAVs and started a services business providing surveys and inspections with drones using advanced sensors on UAVs.

Through the combination of the experience and passion flying helicopters with knowledge and understanding of flight control systems and the capabilities of distributed propulsion, he designed the Axe alongside CTO and renowned aircraft engineer William Brooks.

Michael tells us more about Axe and its technical specification, what value it can bring to the Advanced Air Mobility market, and why he thinks the aircraft can be crucial to other eVTOL OEMs.
