Slovenian electric aircraft developer Pipistrel, a Textron company, has appointed Lincoln Park Aviation (LPA), a leading general aviation sales, maintenance and consulting provider, as its distributor for 15 states in the eastern United States.
With more than 35 years of experience in aviation, LPA will handle Pipistrel two- and four-seat aircraft sales and support, including the fully electric Velis Electro and the Panthera, a four-seat, low-wing aircraft for long-range, high-performance flight.
“Lincoln Park Aviation shares Pipistrel’s vision of bringing the next generation of aircraft to the US, and we are delighted to welcome it to the Pipistrel family,” says Steve Mckenna, director of Sales and Marketing at Pipistrel.
“I have no doubt that they will deliver the highest quality of service to our customers as Pipistrel grows its sales and distribution network.”
LPA president Frank Galella added: “Serving Pipistrel’s US customers in the eastern United States is an honor. With our knowledge of both General Aviation and UAV markets, we are keen to begin supporting Pipistrel customers throughout this region. It’s exciting to be part of the future of aviation.”
LPA will oversee sales and service in the following US states: Connecticut, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia and Vermont.
Lincoln Park Aviation performs high quality maintenance for General Aviation Aircraft, founded by Frank Galella in 1988 and over the last 35+ years has prevailed as a leading provider of service in many areas of aviation.
The Sales division comprises decades of experience in both new and pre-owed aircraft, and the sales team has accomplished flight instructors, while the service department specialises in all facets of maintenance from general servicing of aircraft to complex airframe, engine and avionics repairs. Major composite and sheet metal repairs have become a legacy within the organisation, along with competent staff, the latest technology and tooling.
In March 2022, Textron purchased Pipistrel, forming a new business segment called Textron eAviation to focus on developing sustainable aircraft.
In June 2021, Denmark’s Air Force became the first in the world to use Pipistrel’s Velis Electro aircraft to train its pilots as part of a government plan to reduce CO2 emissions by 70 percent by 2030. They complement the air force’s Saab T‑17 and will be used over a two-year period.
