VIDEO: Vertiport network in Dubai could be operational from as early as 2026 after design plans approved

Plans to build a vertiport network in the city were approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The design was agreed as he attended day zero of this year’s World Government Summit. The announcement sees Dubai become the world’s first city with a fully developed network of vertiports.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has been working with Skyports Infrastructure and Joby Aviation to design and develop the vertiport network. It would connect four main areas of the city: near Dubai International Airport, Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina.
