Xpeng Huitian Traveler X2 eVTOL Awarded Special Flight Certificate by CAAC

It was announced this week that Xpeng Huitian’s Trav­el­er X2 eVTOL has been award­ed a Spe­cial Flight Cer­tifi­cate from China’s Cen­tral and South­ern Regions Civ­il Avi­a­tion Admin­is­tra­tion (CAAC), reports eastwestconn.com.

Xpeng Huit­ian said the CAAC had reviewed the Trav­el­er X2 “in accor­dance with the rel­e­vant pro­vi­sions of the CCAR-21 Civ­il Avi­a­tion Prod­ucts and Parts Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion Reg­u­la­tions”, and recog­nised that the Trav­el­er X2 “can car­ry out flight activ­i­ties safe­ly under spe­cial con­di­tions.” The CAAC has issued a Spe­cial Flight Cer­tifi­cate.

The Trav­el­er X2 is a two-seater fly­ing car (see arti­cle above) inde­pen­dent­ly devel­oped and pro­duced by Xpeng Huit­ian. The body is made of car­bon fibre mate­ri­als. The X2 has a max­i­mum take-off weight of 560kg and an emp­ty weight of 360kg. Its bat­tery dura­tion is 35 min­utes with a max­i­mum flight speed of 130km/h.
