Xpeng Huitian Traveler X2 eVTOL Awarded Special Flight Certificate by CAAC
It was announced this week that Xpeng Huitian’s Traveler X2 eVTOL has been awarded a Special Flight Certificate from China’s Central and Southern Regions Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC), reports eastwestconn.com.
Xpeng Huitian said the CAAC had reviewed the Traveler X2 “in accordance with the relevant provisions of the CCAR-21 Civil Aviation Products and Parts Certification Regulations”, and recognised that the Traveler X2 “can carry out flight activities safely under special conditions.” The CAAC has issued a Special Flight Certificate.
The Traveler X2 is a two-seater flying car (see article above) independently developed and produced by Xpeng Huitian. The body is made of carbon fibre materials. The X2 has a maximum take-off weight of 560kg and an empty weight of 360kg. Its battery duration is 35 minutes with a maximum flight speed of 130km/h.
