EHang Social Media News: Xiyu Tourism Purchasing 10 EH216‑S AAVs for RMB21 million
Twitter-user and software engineer, Philip Femø, claimed yesterday, EHang is signing a contract with Xiyu Tourism in Xinjiang, to sell 10 EH216‑S passenger AAVs for tourist flights, at a price of RMB21.6 million.
He tweeted, “$EH looks like Ehang Joint Venture with Xiyu tourism in Xinjiang are purchasing EH216S for 21.6million RMB! EHang invested 7.5 in the JV! Massive! http://ccgp.gov.cn/cggg/dfgg/dylygg/202305/t20230525_19954328.htm.”
He then translates this report into English (please see below).
The news needs to be taken with care as Femø is an EHang investor and massive fan. He even visited the company’s HQ on March 31st and wrote a major report on his findings.

He tweeted then, “Today I release the report from my visit to @ehang HQ! A huge thank you to Ehang (esp. Investor Relations team, Anne Ji and Nick Yang) for hosting me and taking time to address the retail investors!”
This Xiyu Tourism sales information is not new. Back in late March, eastwestconn.com reported that EHang had signed “a cooperation framework agreement” to introduce up to “120 passenger autonomous aircraft” at “various tourist locations over the next five years”, where “The two parties will jointly invest in the establishment of a joint venture autonomous aircraft operating company.” This was announced by EHang General Manager Li Xinping. What Femø has, perhaps, discovered is the actual beginning of this five year purchasing process.
Given that EHang’s Director, Nick Ning Yang, told globalsky.com recently that the cost of each EH216‑S is USD302,000 and given that RMB21.6 million is equivalent to USD3 million, that means the company has sold 10 AAVs to Xiyu Tourism, verified in the translation below, for the first round of purchases. Another 110 to go, then!
Even so, until EHang gains that last 10 percent of its full certification from the CAAC (presently at 90 percent complete), such good news remains a bit of a damp squib.
