Plana and Moviation join forces on AAM Ecosystem
Plana has entered into a business partnership with Moviation, a local UAM service startup that introduced its urban air mobility service platform Vonaer in February, to offer extra services for user convenience, such as booking air vehicles like helicopters and eVTOLs, linking with ground transportation services, and running lounges.
The business partnership ceremony took place at Plana’s headquarters in Giheung-gu, Yongin, and attended by Plana CEO Braden Kim and Moviation CEO Shin Min. Its goal is to generate new business opportunities and boost the growth of the AAM ecosystem.
As part of the agreement, the two companies will share information and discuss routes, cabin configurations, and customer experience to maximise customer satisfaction. The companies will also look for potential opportunities in the AAM business to attain mutual benefits and shared growth.
“We are excited to improve the satisfaction of our future passengers based on the infrastructure and data accumulated by Moviation. We hope that this MOU will help us expand the domestic AAM market,” said Kim.
Min added: “This partnership is very meaningful to us as two Korean startups have formed a cooperative relationship in the AAM market, which is dominated by various large companies. We hope it will send a message to all those involved in the industry to cooperate.”
Moviation is currently using helicopters to provide services and accumulate know-how in urban aviation operations, and plans to implement UAM services through eVTOL aircraft after 2025.
Earlier this month, Plana announced that it will deliver 50 eVTOL aircraft to Japan’s SkyTaxi for the hybrid eVTOL CP-01 currently under development. The initial 10 aircrafts will be delivered by 2030, followed by an additional 40 by 2040.
