India: Shiprocket Partners Skye Air For Drone Delivery Services

Shiprock­et, an e‑commerce enable­ment plat­form has announced a part­ner­ship with Skye Air, Indi­a’s SaaS-based drone deliv­ery solu­tion provider, reports www.entrepreneur.com India. The col­lab­o­ra­tion aims to rev­o­lu­tionise the e‑commerce land­scape and intro­duce capa­bil­i­ty to deliv­er ship­ments via drones.

Accord­ing to an offi­cial state­ment, this part­ner­ship enables faster order ful­fil­ment with­in urban traf­fic con­ges­tion assist­ed by Skye Air’s drones. By inte­grat­ing these craft with high­ly adapt­able on-demand inter­faces, Skye Air “min­imis­es dis­rup­tions to part­ner oper­a­tional process­es, there­by enhanc­ing ship­ping capa­bil­i­ties and ensur­ing unpar­al­leled cus­tomer sat­is­fac­tion for both B2B and B2C oper­a­tions.”

The part­ner­ship is eye­ing up the city of Gur­gaon, India’s sec­ond largest infor­ma­tion tech­nol­o­gy hub and third largest finan­cial and bank­ing cen­tre, to ini­ti­ate tri­als. Despite being Indi­a’s 56th largest city in terms of pop­u­la­tion, Gur­gaon is the 8th largest in the coun­try in terms of total wealth. The city is locat­ed in the Indi­an state of Haryana in the south­east­ern part of the state. The aim is to employ five drones or more which will enable mer­chants to opt for drone deliv­ery just like any oth­er logis­tics ser­vice.
