Jedsy Gains Multi-Million Dollar Deal with Germany’s Healthcare Giant Asklepios Kliniken

Drone deliv­ery com­pa­ny, Jedsy, has secured a mul­ti-mil­lion dol­lar deal with Germany’s health­care giant, Askle­pios Kliniken, reports a press release. The pio­neer­ing Swiss start-up, known for its inno­v­a­tive deliv­ery drones, has unveiled a major part­ner­ship with Germany’s lead­ing med­ical com­pa­ny, Askle­pios Kliniken.

The announce­ment was made at the U.S Dal­las UP Sum­mit last week. The col­lab­o­ra­tion is set to bring about sub­stan­tial changes in health­care sup­ply deliv­ery with poten­tial far-reach­ing effects.

Found­ed in ear­ly 2021 by Her­bert Weirather and Mirko Cese­na, Jedsy’s inno­va­tion includes direct dock­ing of their drones at the recipient’s win­dow or bal­cony. These dock­ing sta­tions which dou­ble as charg­ing hubs, enables a strong lev­el of automa­tion and decen­tral­i­sa­tion with­in their deliv­ery net­work. This inno­va­tion not only ensures rapid deliv­er­ies, but rep­re­sents excel­lent cost-effi­cien­cy.

Askle­pios Kliniken, a heavy­weight in Germany’s health­care land­scape, boast­ing near­ly 170 facil­i­ties and a work­force of over 67,000 peo­ple, is syn­ony­mous with a holis­tic patient-cen­tric approach.

Cou­pled with Medilys, a spe­cial­ist provider of lab­o­ra­to­ry and diag­nos­tic ser­vices, and an impor­tant divi­sion of Askle­pios, the two play a piv­otal role in ensur­ing the high­est stan­dards of patient care. Their com­mit­ment to advanc­ing med­ical diag­nos­tics and ser­vices has earned them a well deserved rep­u­ta­tion for excel­lence.

Both Jedsy and Medilys are embark­ing on a trans­for­ma­tive part­ner­ship aimed at rev­o­lu­tion­is­ing logis­tics. Their col­lab­o­ra­tion will estab­lish new deliv­ery routes in con­trast to tra­di­tion­al van and lor­ry deliv­er­ies.

The release explains, “Exten­sive inves­ti­ga­tions are already under­way for the first routes, includ­ing ambi­tious plans for a fur­ther 49 con­nec­tions. This bold expan­sion under­scores their stead­fast com­mit­ment to effi­cient­ly serve an ever-grow­ing health­care net­work, ensur­ing patients have time­ly access to care pre­cise­ly where and when it’s need­ed most. The drone delivery’s supe­ri­or speed, reduced envi­ron­men­tal impact, and enhanced acces­si­bil­i­ty reflect their ded­i­ca­tion to pio­neer­ing health­care logis­tics.”

It con­tin­ues, “In addi­tion to solid­i­fy­ing this part­ner­ship, Jedsy and Askle­pios have a grander vision in mind that is not just address­ing inef­fi­cien­cies in the sup­ply chain and adding speed to health­care to increase qual­i­ty, but mea­sur­able add to the sus­tain­abil­i­ty tar­gets through reduc­ing emis­sion, noise and oper­at­ing time of machin­ery.”  Both com­pa­nies are com­mit­ted to align­ing their efforts with the prin­ci­ples of the Euro­pean Green Deal.

By adopt­ing Jedsy’s cut­ting-edge deliv­ery drone tech­nol­o­gy, the part­ner­ship is expect­ed to achieve a reduc­tion of up to 99 per­cent in car­bon emis­sions.

Askle­pios has recent­ly been nom­i­nat­ed for the finals of the pres­ti­gious Ger­man Sus­tain­abil­i­ty Award in the health­care sec­tor. A jury of close to 150 experts select­ed the com­pa­ny as one of the pio­neers of trans­for­ma­tion in the indus­try.
