PODCAST: Aziz Tahiri of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence on how advanced technology can solve AAM’s biggest challenges

Our next podcast episode is live! This week, we were joined by Aziz Tahiri, VP of Global Aerospace and Defence at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence.

Recent excitement and investment in the eVTOL aircraft industry has been driven by their potential to reduce emissions, improve safety and transform urban transportation.

But in practice, major challenges must first be overcome, including designing highly complex systems, maintaining quality across vast and varied supply chains, and meeting stringent regulations – all within a manufacturing ecosystem burdened by rising costs and a scarcity of skilled labour.

In this episode, Aziz talks about the importance of machine learning and simulation in the Advanced Air Mobility industry, and how they can be used to deliver the lightweight, low carbon designs eVTOL aircraft need.

We go into detail about virtual reality training programmes and their benefits when quickly upskilling new engineers, and the role additive manufacturing can play in the design and build phase.
