RYSE releases 1st eVTOL water take-off & landing footage

RYSE Aero Technologies, a Ohio-based pre-revenue ultralight eVTOL vehicle manufacturer, has unveiled test footage showcasing the water take-off and landing capabilities of Recon.

In the video, the Recon is shown soaring over a lake before initiating a water-landing sequence around the 33-second mark. Moments later, the Recon smoothly settles onto the lake’s surface. Then, at the 1:10 mark, the pilot starts the water take-off sequence and soars off in the distance.

RYSE claims the Recon’s ability to take off and land on water sets it apart in the highly competitive eVTOL space. RYSE has conducted over 400 successful flights and holds the groundbreaking distinction of being the first to conduct flight demonstrations at CES, underscoring its position as a leader in this space.

While many eVTOL contenders are projecting delivery around late 2024 to 2025, RYSE is aiming for December 2023 for Recon’s inaugural shipment.
