DUBAI AIRSHOW 2023: “AutoFlight Unveils AAM Firefighting Program, Debuts Fully Functional Prototype” (Watch Video)
China-based AutoFlight, is following “the Airsteps of EHang,” by unveiling at the Dubai Airshow, an exciting and innovative eVTOL program to help firefighters extinguish dangerous fires, reports a press release.
The fully functional unmanned autonomous aircraft prototype (please watch video), has a maximum takeoff weight of two metric tons and is designed to lift up to four fire-extinguishing canisters, each weighing 100kg, or a 400kg payload, covering a distance of up to 200km, while reaching speeds in excess of 200km/h. This equates to a single payload, collectively extinguishing major fires, spanning up to 800 sq/m.
The firefighting model is based on the CarryAll, AutoFlight’s cargo eVTOL, for which the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) certification is expected by early next year.
