EHang Signs Major “Flight Tourism Agreement” with Chinese Partners for Pingtan Island, “Worth USD16.4 Million”
EHang signed an agreement with Fujian Xinyun Technology Investment and the Experimental Zone Investment Promotion Committee last week for a “low-altitude flight tourism” project covering the resort island of Pingtan, reports baijiahao.baidu.com. Pingtan is an island located off the east coast of mainland China in Fujian Province.
The news website states, “The project initially plans to invest 120 million yuan (USD16.4 million) to focus on research and development around the implementation of a low-altitude flight and tourism scenario.”
It continues, “The plan is based on scenic tourism using unmanned aircraft technology for transportation, logistics, medical care, emergency and urban management, to gradually achieve development of the low-altitude flight industry in terms of resource integration, development and operation, as well as brand building.”

The Island of Pingtan
Li Xiaona, General Manager of the East China Region, explained that after the project is implemented, “efforts will be made to explore development models and create a Pingtan model of low-altitude tourism.”
Fujian Xinyun is primarily responsible for the investment and operation management of the project and will focus on the integration and utilisation of resources, as well as to connect with state-owned enterprises in the district, to promote the co-operative development of low-altitude flight cultural tourism projects based on sightseeing and tourism.
