Eviation Announces Latest Executive Leadership Including “Coup of Andre Stein as New CEO”
Eviation announced late last week, the surprising news that Eve Air Mobility CEO, Andre Stein, has left the Embraer company after 25 years and joining it as the new CEO. To add to the surprise, Stein co-Founded Eve. This is a coup for Eviation and its all-electric aircraft Alice and should assist the company through the next tricky stages of development.
A press release explains, “Stein is a seasoned leader with a proven track record in product development, leading the Embraer E2 product and market strategy from definition to certification. At Eve, he also led the company’s industrialisation strategy, partnerships and sales, and capital raising, including Eve’s listing on the New York Stock Exchange. Stein’s 25 years’ experience and expertise in product development, market strategy and commercial execution will propel Eviation’s Alice aircraft through next stages toward certification.”
He remarked, “Eviation’s mission to revolutionise aerospace couldn’t be more important or more urgent. I have long admired the Alice – it’s a beautiful and innovative aircraft that is leading the way in all-electric flight. I look forward to working with Eviation’s team to take Alice through the next phases of its development and bring it to market, so passengers everywhere can enjoy sustainable and convenient commuter air travel.” It is unclear why Stein left Eve.

Another key leadership appointment is Jeff Hurford, who joins Eviation as the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He comes from Cirrus Aircraft where Hurford was Platform Director of the SR1X program. Previously, he had held senior financial and program management roles in the aerospace industry, including 19 years at Gulfstream Aerospace. Hurford brings extensive experience in leading financial and commercial oversight of aircraft development programs and product delivery.
He commented, “Eviation is entering an exciting period in its history. As we move ever closer toward certification and industrialisation of the Alice, I am thrilled to join Andre and the team to lead the aerospace industry’s transition to sustainability.”
Eviation’s Alice, a nine-passenger aircraft, is the only flight-proven all-electric commuter aircraft of its size. Built from a clean-sheet design, Alice produces zero carbon emissions, with lower operating costs per flight hour compared to light jets or high-end turboprops. Orders for Alice now exceed USD5 billion.
