Eve Air Mobility Announces Antonio João Carmesini Barcellos as VP of Industrialisation
Eve Air Mobility announced this week that Antonio João Carmesini Barcellos, current Chairman of the Board and General Director of Embraer Portugal, is to become the company’s new Vice President of Industrialisation, reports a press release.
With over 27 years of experience in the aviation industry, Carmesini spent almost eight years as the Director of Manufacturing Engineering at Embraer. He is renowned for his strategic leadership, overseeing production operations and driving innovation to increase efficiency and product quality.
Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve, commented, “Carmesini brings a combination of deep technical expertise and strategic vision that will be invaluable to our mission to transform urban air mobility.”
Carmesini added, “I am proud to have contributed to Embraer in various positions over the years and I am excited to bring that experience to Eve. With a focus on industrialisation, my goal is to enhance the company’s ecosystem of innovative solutions, ensuring efficient and high-quality production processes that will contribute to Eve’s sustainable growth.”
Last July, Eve revealed that its first eVTOL production facility will be located in the city of Taubaté, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The company has begun assembly of its first full-scale eVTOL prototype, which will be followed by a test campaign in 2024. Eve’s eVTOL is scheduled to enter into service in 2026.
