Italy: UrbanV Collaborates with ITA Airways, Airbus and Enel to Develop AAM in Italy
Vertiport network operator, UrbanV, is collaborating with ITA Airways, Airbus and Enel to promote and develop an Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) ecosystem in Italy, reports a press release. The partnership aims to promote this new green aviation revolution with the commitment and cooperation of national mobility stakeholders.
The collaboration expands on an initial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between ITA Airways and Airbus, signed in April 2022, and now includes UrbanV and solutions provider, Enel.
The expanded MOU is to concentrate on establishing a joint roadmap for the development of an AAM ecosystem in Italy where the vertiport operator, airline, eVTOL manufacturer and energy solution provider, are to work together to evaluate various business models in cooperation with Italian stakeholders.
The partners will focus particularly on how to operate the Airbus eVTOL CityAirbus NextGen; alongside vertiports and their network planning; as well as defining passenger experience models and suitable routes.
Carlo Tursi, CEO of UrbanV, commented, “At UrbanV, we have the ambition to become a major global operator of vertiport networks and aim to become pioneers in establishing some of the first AAM routes worldwide.”
