EHang Signs Trilateral MOU Agreement with ADIO and MLG at DRIFTx Event “to Develop eVTOL Operations in Abu Dhabi and Beyond”

EHang announced over the week­end (April 28th) at the DRIFTx Event in Abu Dhabi that the Com­pa­ny has signed a tri­lat­er­al MOU (Mem­o­ran­dum of Under­stand­ing) agree­ment with the Abu Dhabi Invest­ment Office (ADIO) and the lead­ing Fin­tech group in the MENA region, Mul­ti Lev­el Group (MLG) , reports a press release. The aim is to dri­ve eVTOL devel­op­ment in the UAE region and beyond.

EHang is aim­ing to set up its region­al HQ in Abu Dhabi, UAE to pro­mote busi­ness activ­i­ties with local part­ners cov­er­ing man­u­fac­tur­ing, flight oper­a­tions, research and devel­op­ment, as well as train­ing and Main­te­nance, Repair and Over­haul (MRO) facil­i­ties.

ADIO is to pro­vide EHang with invest­ment along­side a com­pre­hen­sive range of growth-enabling sup­port includ­ing:- 

: Pro­vid­ing data and infor­ma­tion relat­ed to estab­lish­ing and oper­at­ing a man­u­fac­tur­ing and indus­tri­al ser­vices busi­ness in Abu Dhabi. 

: To set up enable­ment and links with the Abu Dhabi ecosys­tem and inter­na­tion­al trade oppor­tu­ni­ties.

Our col­lab­o­ra­tion with MLG and air mobil­i­ty lead­ers such as EHang, will play a key role in dri­ving Abu Dhabi’s efforts in pro­mot­ing eVTOLs to trans­form the way peo­ple and goods are trans­port­ed and in advanc­ing the future of mobil­i­ty glob­al­ly.”

Mean­while, the City’s new SAVI (Smart & Autonomous Vehi­cles Indus­try) sup­ports “the inno­va­tion and com­mer­cial­i­sa­tion of smart and autonomous vehi­cle tech­nolo­gies in the UAE by pro­vid­ing state-of-the art facil­i­ties and val­ue-added ser­vices with­in an enabling reg­u­la­to­ry envi­ron­ment,” explains the release. 

This clus­ter is locat­ed in Abu Dhabi’s Mas­dar City and includes R&D lab­o­ra­to­ries. EHang will utilise the exist­ing infra­struc­ture with­in the City for tri­alling and cer­ti­fi­ca­tion, large scale work­shops, hangars and man­u­fac­tur­ing facil­i­ties.
