magniX Appoints Reed Macdonald as Chief Executive Officer
magniX, “the company powering the electric aviation revolution,” announced recently, it has appointed Reed Macdonald as the company’s new CEO, reports a press release. He will lead magniX as it prepares “revolutionary electric powertrains for Entry Into Service.”
Macdonald has more than 25 years’ experience in aerospace, finance, defence and manufacturing, as well as holding several board and senior executive roles including as CEO and Board Member at FDS Avionics, a manufacturer of electronics equipment for the business aviation and military markets. He also brings in-depth financial and commercial experience to the CEO role at magniX, having led investments in companies across diverse sectors.
Macdonald remarked, “I look forward to working with the team to bring our industry-leading electric powertrains to the marketplace and to accelerate the transition to sustainable aviation. It is an exciting time for magniX as its groundbreaking technology takes giant leaps toward making zero emissions flight a commercial reality.”
The release says, “magniX is the only company to have powered groundbreaking flights by five different aircraft, including the maiden flight of the first all-electric commuter airplane, Eviation’s Alice, and the longest and highest altitude flights by a hydrogen electric plane.”
It continues, “in April, magniX received a Letter of Intent from North America’s largest seaplane airline, Harbour Air, for 50 magni650 engines.”
John Saabas, Chairman of magniX, commented, “We are entering a significant new phase in our game-changing technology’s progress toward Entry Into Service. Reed’s commercial experience and expertise are well-suited to steward us through this chapter in our journey to change the history of aviation.”
