“Skyportz Latest Fundraiser a Great Success”
Skyportz, the Australian-based vertiport developer, announced this week that its latest fundraising has been a big success, reports a press release. The company is currently raising funds via the Birchal platform.
Skyportz reached its minimum raise last week in just 29 minutes after opening and by Monday (April 28th) had attracted over 300 new investors on top of its existing 500. If you’re interested in an investment, be quick as the offer closes tomorrow (Thursday, May 2nd).

The release explains, “Skyportz has been assembling the pieces of the Advanced Air Mobility puzzle in Australia for the last 5 years. Its focus is on breaking the nexus between aviation and airports and enabling property owners to activate their sites with vertiports.”
Clem Newton-Brown, Founder and CEO of Skyportz, commented, “The recent major investment from the Middle East into vertiport infrastructure gives us a lot of confidence with Skyportz here in Australia. We believe we are on the right track.” He continued, “The company is well positioned to capitalise on the opportunity to facilitate this aviation revolution in Australia when it arrives.”
To support Newton-Brown’s enthusiasm, the Middle East, in particular Dubai and Abu Dhabi, is presently ploughing massive amounts of money into the eVTOL industry with the two lead U.S electric air taxi manufacturers, Archer and Joby, greatly benefitting with their operations set to commence next year.
Also, UK-based Skyports, another vertiport developer, has recently secured a USD110 million investment from ACS Group, one of the world’s foremost infrastructure and construction companies, via its subsidiary, Iridium; while both Joby and Archer have gained “a multi hundred million dollar investment” from the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) to support operational infrastructure.
Back in Australia, Melbourne-based airport construction specialist, Maz Group, has emerged as a leading investor in Skyportz. With experience in airport terminal construction, hangars and general aviation, its projects include the Melbourne and Launceston Airports. Maz will be collaborating with Skyportz in vertiport design and construction.
Marty Craggily, MD of Maz Group and a former Australian Superbike champion, remarked, “We have extensive experience in all aspects of airport building, from hangars to terminals to baggage handling. This is our area of expertise. We aim to develop an entirely new class of building for Skyportz. A vertiport terminal for the emerging electric air taxi industry.”

Newton-Brown added, “At Skyportz we are developing concepts and designs for something that does not yet exist. The input from Maz, one of our most signficant shareholders, will greatly enhance the ability to actually construct a vertiport network when the time is right.”
