UK Farnborough Airshow 2024: “Host of Leading eVTOL and AAM-Related Companies Attending”

Here we go again. The bi-annu­al UK Farn­bor­ough Air­show, in the south­ern coun­ty of Hamp­shire, is about to begin (July 22nd-26th) with weath­er con­di­tions more befit­ting a typ­i­cal Eng­lish sum­mer than 2022, when atten­dees expe­ri­enced extreme 40 centi­grade heat (110 Fahren­heit).

The 45th Farn­bor­ough is seen as one of the largest air­show events in the world, and eVTOL and AAM-relat­ed com­pa­nies are mak­ing a more vis­i­ble appear­ance than before as the indus­try con­tin­ues to grow.

Typ­i­cal is Eve Air Mobil­i­ty who is to pro­vide an update on sev­er­al key pro­gram mile­stones.

Com­ing off its recent announce­ment of gain­ing USD94 mil­lion in new equi­ty to sup­port devel­op­ment of its eVTOL air­craft, the com­pa­ny is set to make var­i­ous announce­ments at the show along­side Eve’s CEO, Johann Bor­dais, updat­ing the indus­try on its pro­gram devel­op­ment includ­ing sev­er­al key mile­stones. The com­pa­ny is to show­case a cab­in mock-up, where vis­i­tors can take a vir­tu­al flight on its eVTOL using vir­tu­al real­i­ty glass­es.  

Bor­dais com­ment­ed, “The Farn­bor­ough Air­show is an excel­lent oppor­tu­ni­ty to update and show the mar­ket that Eve has made sig­nif­i­cant progress towards cre­at­ing a safe, sus­tain­able and effi­cient advanced air mobil­i­ty industry.We have matured our eVTOL pro­gram, and we believe we are on the way to suc­cess­ful­ly build­ing, cer­ti­fy­ing and deliv­er­ing the right air­craft for the mar­ket.”

Ver­ti­cal Aero­space’s VX‑4 eVTOL Air­craft Made a Big Impres­sion at Farn­bor­ough in 2022

On the Fri­day, the pub­lic are wel­come to attend. Through­out the week there are fly­ing and sta­t­ic dis­plays of air­craft rep­re­sent­ing the pin­na­cle of both com­mer­cial and mil­i­tary avi­a­tion design.

Mean­while, the evtolin­sights team are attend­ing after con­clud­ing its ‘Lead­ers Lunch’ on the Sun­day between 12 noon and 3pm (BST) in a pri­vate room at the top of the Avi­a­tor Hotel, which over­looks the Air­show. As of Thurs­day there are just three tick­ets left on sale.

Those attend­ing will be able to net­work and share insights in a lux­u­ry set­ting with a buf­fet lunch and drinks pro­vid­ed. It will allow curat­ed dis­cus­sion of busi­ness intel­li­gence and strat­e­gy in the AAM mar­ket.

Senior indus­try exec­u­tives already attend­ing are from com­pa­nies includ­ing Joby Avi­a­tion, Super­nal, Archer, Eve Air Mobil­i­ty, Rolls-Royce, Bayards Ver­ti­ports, Air­borne, Sea­Horse Air, Blueshift, Arcadis, FreeFlight Sys­tems, Mag­net­ic Seal, Per­for­mance Soft­ware, Alakai, Flow­copter (UK), Saint-Gob­ain and The Jar­gon Group.
