Dufour Aerospace: First Flight for AeroMini10
Dufour Aerospace has successfully conducted its inaugural flight demonstrations in Sweden, marking a significant stride in the advancement of unmanned tilt-wing technology. Supported by strategic partners Savback and the Västervik Drone Science Park, Dufour’s AeroMini10 took to the skies, showcasing the potential of this innovative aircraft family.
Dufour’s AeroMini10: A Tilt-Wing Triumph
Dufour recently orchestrated a series of captivating customer demonstrations and test flights at the Västervik airfield in Sweden. This momentous occasion signified not only the first flight of Dufour’s aircraft in Sweden but also the inaugural deployment of their newly established Operations Team outside their Swiss headquarters.
The spotlight shone brightly on the AeroMini10, a compact yet potent test and validation platform within Dufour’s groundbreaking tilt-wing aircraft family. Throughout 12 autonomous flights, the Dufour team masterfully exhibited the remarkable capabilities of unmanned tilt-wing technology, with a particular emphasis on their sophisticated in-house flight control system. These tests yielded resounding success, furnishing invaluable operational data and insights gleaned from real-world conditions beyond their familiar Swiss base.

A Scaled-Down Powerhouse
While the AeroMini10 may be the smallest member of Dufour’s tilt-wing fleet, it serves as a formidable tool for concept validation and pilot/operator training. Its design philosophy mirrors that of its larger sibling, the Aero2, enabling substantial and impactful flight operations with a remarkably streamlined approach. Although fully capable of Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flights, the AeroMini10 operated within the visual range of drone pilots during this particular campaign.
Savback’s Enthusiastic Endorsement
Savback, a key strategic partner in this endeavor, expressed their elation at being part of this landmark achievement. They eagerly anticipate further collaboration with Dufour Aerospace as they continue to push the boundaries of unmanned aerial technology.
