AAM Institute Announces Release of Report, “Elevating Brazilian Mobility: São José dos Campos, the Air Capital of Latin America”

The Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Institute has announced this week the release of its latest Report entitled: “Elevating Brazilian Mobility: São José dos Campos, the Air Capital of Latin America,” reports a press release.

Sponsored by Brazil-based eVTOL cargo company, Moya Aero, the White Paper “explores Brazil’s growing role in advanced air mobility, touching on industry developments, regulatory progress and infrastructure plans,” states the release.

Researched and authored by Fernanda Siniscalchi, the AAM Institute’s Liaison to Brazil and Treasurer of the Board of Liaisons, in collaboration with Larissa Paganelli, the Institute’s Regulatory Affairs Officer to Brazil’s Departamento de Controle de Espaço Aéreo (DECEA), the Report provides an in-depth examination of the current state and future potential of Brazil’s AAM landscape.

Siniscalchi commented, “By sharing our insights, we aim to foster international collaboration, promote knowledge-sharing and encourage partnerships between Brazilian and global stakeholders. The Report also emphasises the importance of building public trust and acceptance, which are essential for advancing AAM systems and infrastructure.”

Paganelli added, “Brazil’s vast territory has attracted attention from both domestic and global stakeholders, and regulators are prioritising the legal frameworks necessary for operational readiness, particularly in safety and infrastructure. The Institute is committed to fostering collaboration to help society experience the benefits of this innovative aviation technology.”

Companies like Eve Air Mobility, Moya and Vertical Connect are advancing eVTOL trialling with operations targeted by 2030. Meanwhile, regulatory bodies such as Brazil’s Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) and DECEA are developing frameworks to ensure safe, efficient operations. Infrastructure planning is also underway, with airports being assessed for future vertiport use.

Dan Sloat, AAM Institute Founder and President, remarked, “Brazil’s progress in AAM is a testament to the country’s commitment to innovation and sustainable aviation. As this report outlines, collaboration among regulators, industry leaders, and international partners is key to unlocking the full potential of AAM in Brazil.”

He continued, “We are excited to support this journey and help foster an environment where new technologies can thrive, delivering meaningful benefits to society.”
