Norway: Dovetail Aviation, Skydive Voss Sign Agreement “to Introduce Electric Aircraft for Skydiving”
Dovetail Electric Aviation, a leader in retrofitting existing aircraft with electric powertrains, and Skydive Voss, a Norwegian skydiving operator, have signed a collaboration agreement to convert several Cessna Caravans 208 into electric aircraft, reports a press release. The two companies will also explore the conversion of other smaller aircraft used for skydiving applications, including the Cessna 182 and 206.
This partnership marks an important step towards reducing the environmental impact of skydiving in Norway. The aim is to introduce the first electric aircraft for such activities in the region during 2026.
First trial flights may take place next year if the involved consortium (Dovetail, Skydive Voss and Scandinavian Seaplanes) succeed with a proposal under the International Test Arena for zero and low-emission aircraft.
The program, initiated by Avinor and the Civil Aviation Authority of Norway (CAA Norway), aims to accelerate the use of green technologies via trialling and demonstration projects.

The release states, “With this agreement, Skydive Voss becomes the second customer for Dovetail Electric Aviation in Norway, following a similar partnership established earlier this year with Scandinavian Seaplanes. Both agreements represent a growing interest in the transition to electric aviation.”
It continues, “The partnership between Dovetail and Skydive Voss highlights a shared commitment to advancing zero-emission technologies, contributing to Norway’s ambitious climate goals, and setting a new standard for the future of skydiving.”
