Eve Air Mobility “Releases Further AAM News”

Eve Air Mobility, keeps on releasing news in recent weeks with the latest two announcements involving Embraer-CAE Training Services and a collaboration to develop an AAM Ecosystem in Brazil, reports two press releases.

First, Eve has announced a joint venture with its parent company, Embraer, and CAE Training Service (ECTS). ECTS has been selected as the training provider for Eve’s eVTOL aircraft pilots, maintenance technicians and ground handling personnel. The services will be part of the recently announced Eve TechCare, the company’s all-in-one service portfolio for eVTOLs.

Luiz Mauad, VP of Eve Customer Services, commented, “This partnership not only underscores our commitment to safety and operational excellence, but also equips our and operators’ teams with the necessary skills to offer outstanding customer service.”

Carlos Naufel, President & CEO of Embraer Services & Support as well as ECTS Chairman, added, “As the training provider for Eve Air Mobility, ECTS will ensure pilots, maintenance technicians and ground personnel receive specialised training and acquire the skill and confidence to safely operate Eve’s eVTOL in and around the world’s busiest urban centres.”

The release explains, “The joint venture between Embraer and CAE, established in 2007, began with a contract to provide pilot and ground crew training for Embraer’s Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 customers. Today, the JV operates nine full-flight simulators globally, with more slated for 2025.”

It continues, “Earlier this year, it marked a significant milestone by launching the first E2 full-flight simulator in Asia, further strengthening its growth trajectory. Leveraging CAE’s extensive global network of training centres, ECTS ensures comprehensive training coverage, delivering the high-quality customer experience that has become a hallmark of its service.”

Alexandre Prevost, CAE’s Division President, Business Aviation Training and ECTS Board Member, remarked, “Safety will be essential to the adoption and growth of AAM, and highly trained personnel are key to safe operations.”

He continued, “As part of the long-term agreement, CAE will be responsible for producing all equipment and courseware for pilot, maintenance, and ground handling training for Eve Air Mobility.”

Adding, “CAE continues to make significant investments in AAM to deliver innovative and immersive products and training solutions that are specifically tailored to the industry and today’s learners.”

Eve boasts the industry’s largest backlog with letters of intent (LOI) for 2,900 eVTOLs from 30 customers in 13 countries, representing a potential USD14.5 billion in sales revenue.

Next comes news of Eve collaborating with Omni Helicopters International Group (OHI) and Revo, its Brazilian AAM platform, to develop an ecosystem after successfully completing an urban air traffic simulation in São Paulo.

This simulation, which utilised Revo’s helicopters and Vector, Eve’s Traffic Management software solution, took place at Revo’s operations control centre in the city.

While shadowing Revo’s helicopter operations, Vector simulated the management and tracking of eVTOL operations in an urban environment, applying the services necessary to respond to various scenarios, including delay on departure and to destination, airspace/weather constraints and in-flight deviation to alternate landing locations. These were all tested in late October.

The release explains, “The simulation focused on validating new traffic management services necessary for eVTOLs to conduct safe and reliable operations at entry into services and in high-utilisation use cases at scale.”

It continues, “Eve and Revo have also been partnering to encourage critical AAM stakeholder collaboration to develop best-in-class eVTOL operations practices, air management protocols, and ground handling. Renowned for having the world’s largest number of helicopter operations, São Paulo presents a significant opportunity for eVTOLs to revolutionize transportation in one of the world’s largest and traffic-congested cities.”

Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve, stated, “This simulation reinforces Eve’s efforts to introduce eVTOL flights to metropolitan areas and provide communities with an additional mode of transportation that is safe, sustainable, and efficient. We’re delighted to partner with Revo for this initiative to foster the urban air mobility market in Latin America’s largest city.”

Jeremy Akel, CEO of OHI, remarked, “Recently, we contributed to aviation history in Brazil with the first and longest uncrewed civil flight to an offshore platform, co-existing in airspace with other aircraft. This demonstrates that we have the experience and vision to help shape the future of air mobility.”

João Welsh, CEO of Revo, added, “We took the first step just over a year ago, starting an accelerated learning process with helicopters to lead this transition. Early collaboration between industry leaders, regulators, urban planners, infrastructure developers, and local communities will help ensure that key challenges are addressed holistically, and we will continue to develop the ecosystem over the coming months.”

The simulation and development of the AAM ecosystem in Sao Paulo are in addition to the Revo’s pre-order of up to 50 of Eve’s eVTOL, access to Eve TechCare, Eve’s all-in-one service portfolio for eVTOLs, and Vector.
