Watch Video: “Joby Aviation, Toyota Intensify Endeavour to Realise Air Mobility As U.S eVTOL Takes First Trial Flight in Japan”
Joby Aviation and Toyota Motor Corps came together at Toyota’s Higashi-Fuji Technical Centre (Shizuoka, Japan) to affirm their collective passion and ambition for the future of air mobility, reports a press release.
This VIP gathering included Jordan Bevirt, Founder and CEO of Joby and Akio Toyoda, the Chairman of Toyota Group. The assembled audience watched the U.S company’s N542JX eVTOL air taxi successfully make its first trial flight in Japan, to the backdrop of Mount Fuji.
An enthused Bevirt, rightly proud of his aircraft’s “low acoustic footprint”, told the audience, “We share Toyota’s vision for the future of air travel and are honoured to have had an opportunity to present a glimpse of that future through our exhibition flight in Japan.”
Hiroki Nakajima, Executive VP of Toyota Motor Corps and Board Member, added, ”Air mobility has the potential to change our sense of distance and time and open a future with the new option of air mobility that will further enrich the lives of many people.” He continued, “Toyota is committed to deepening the collaboration with Joby and we’ll continue to work together to realise our shared dreams.”
