“Archer Completes Construction of Covington Manufacturing Facility”

Archer Avi­a­tion announced this week it has received “the cer­tifi­cate of occu­pan­cy for its high-vol­ume man­u­fac­tur­ing facil­i­ty, ARC, which is con­nect­ed to the Cov­ing­ton Munic­i­pal Air­port in Geor­gia,” reports a press release. “Archer is now work­ing to com­plete the tool­ing load-in for the ini­tial man­u­fac­tur­ing line at this facil­i­ty.” 

Pro­duc­tion is planned to start ear­ly next year, with the goal of ramp­ing to a rate of two air­craft per month by the end of 2025.

Archer has built ARC (the name giv­en to the facil­i­ty), in close part­ner­ship with car man­u­fac­tur­er, Stel­lan­tis, as the two com­pa­nies con­tin­ue to progress their plans to mass-pro­duce Archer’s Mid­night air­craft.

Cov­ing­ton May­or, Flee­ta Baggett, State Rep, Tim Flem­ing, New­ton Coun­ty Devel­op­ment Pres­i­dent, Ser­ra Hall, New­ton Coun­ty Cham­ber Pres­i­dent, Deb­bie Harp­er, Cov­ing­ton City Man­ag­er, Tres Thomas, New­ton Coun­ty Com­mis­sion­er, Lanier Sims, and Archer VP of Oper­a­tions, Glen Burks, were joined by sev­er­al local lead­ers and Archer and Stel­lan­tis team mem­bers to com­mem­o­rate the com­ple­tion of con­struc­tion on Archer’s high-vol­ume man­u­fac­tur­ing facil­i­ty with a rib­bon-cut­ting cer­e­mo­ny (Pho­to: Archer)

The release con­tin­ues, “Stel­lan­tis is con­tribut­ing cap­i­tal, advanced man­u­fac­tur­ing tech­nol­o­gy and exper­tise and expe­ri­enced per­son­nel with the goal of scal­ing this facil­i­ty to 650 air­craft annu­al­ly by 2030.”

Geor­gia Gov­er­nor Bri­an Kemp, remarked, “When we announced Archer’s choice to build this new man­u­fac­tur­ing facil­i­ty in New­ton Coun­ty, we knew it was just the start of an incred­i­ble rela­tion­ship. Today’s announce­ment marks the next step in that jour­ney, reaf­firm­ing Georgia’s com­mit­ment to work­ing with inno­v­a­tive com­pa­nies like Archer to cre­ate qual­i­ty jobs and oppor­tu­ni­ties for years to come.” 

Adam Gold­stein, Archer’s co-Founder and CEO, added, “With con­struc­tion on ARC now com­plete, our team is focused on the start of pro­duc­tion. From there, it’s all about exe­cu­tion and scal­ing.”
