Honeywell, Regal Rexnord “to Collaborate on AAM and eVTOL Markets”

Honeywell and Regal Rexnord Corps recently announced the signing of a multi-year collaboration to build technologies for the emerging Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and eVTOL market, reports a press release.

The two companies will work together to develop technologies that integrate electro-mechanical components, systems and software on AAM aircraft. This partnership supports Honeywell’s alignment with the growing trend of automation, the future of aviation as well as energy transition. Both companies support customers with product portfolios that are backed by decades of industry knowledge and engineering expertise.

Louis Pinkham, CEO of Regal Rexnord, commented, ”By leveraging our complementary skills and expertise, we will deliver exceptional value to our customers in the aerospace industry. By working together, we aim to develop advanced solutions that enhance performance while promoting a more sustainable future in aerospace.”

Dave Shilliday

Dave Shilliday, VP and General Manager, of Advanced Air Mobility, Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, added, “This alliance blends Honeywell’s flight control system integration and certification expertise with Regal Rexnord’s advanced, automated manufacturing expertise to accelerate entry-into-service to meet AAM demand.”

He continued, “We are confident that this arrangement will be hugely beneficial to AAM companies that need guidance and support to achieve their certification and flight goals.”

The release explains, “Collaboration may include multiple manufacturing points in the value stream like components manufacturing through final products’ assembly and test of Honeywell’s flight control actuation systems.”

It concludes, “Additionally, a successful collaboration in this high-volume manufacturing arena could lead to other technology and product advancements, enabling future growth in additional aerospace products.”

Background

Regal Rexnord has 30,000 associates around the world. The company’s electric motors and air moving subsystems provide the power to create motion for various industrial applications.

This is comprised of controllers, drives, precision motors and actuators that controls motion in applications ranging from factory automation to precision tools used in surgical applications.
