Joby, Jetex Initially Collaborate “to Advance Sustainable Air Mobility Around the Middle East”

Joby Avi­a­tion and Jetex, a leader in exec­u­tive avi­a­tion, announced this week a col­lab­o­ra­tion “to rede­fine seam­less con­nec­tiv­i­ty for Jetex cus­tomers,” reports Busi­ness Wire.

The two com­pa­nies are to focus, ini­tial­ly, on Jetex loca­tions across the Mid­dle East, where Joby plans to install its Glob­al Elec­tric Avi­a­tion Charg­ing Sys­tem (GEACS), “to sup­port its oper­a­tions that will con­nect Jetex pas­sen­gers to a net­work of ver­ti­ports, offer­ing effi­cient and sus­tain­able trav­el across the region and between Emi­rates,” con­tin­ues the report.

Jetex’s VIP Ter­mi­nals, includ­ing flag­ship loca­tions at Al Mak­toum Inter­na­tion­al Air­port in Dubai and Al Bateen Exec­u­tive Air­port in Abu Dhabi, pro­vide access to key finan­cial, tourist and enter­tain­ment des­ti­na­tions with­in the UAE.”

Joby’s planned ser­vice in Dubai is part of a defin­i­tive agree­ment with Dubai’s Road and Trans­port Author­i­ty, grant­i­ng the com­pa­ny exclu­sive right to oper­ate air taxis in the city for six years. Sky­ports, its launch infra­struc­ture part­ner in the area, has begun con­struc­tion of the first ver­ti­port at Dubai Inter­na­tion­al Air­port.

Mean­while, in Abu Dhabi, Joby has signed a mul­ti­lat­er­al agree­ment with the Depart­ment of Munic­i­pal­i­ties and Trans­port, Abu Dhabi (DMT), the Abu Dhabi Depart­ment of Eco­nom­ic Devel­op­ment (DED) and the Depart­ment of Cul­ture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), which lays the ground­work for the eVTOL com­pa­ny to estab­lish and scale air taxi ser­vices in the Emi­rate and unlocks the poten­tial for inter-emi­rate ser­vices.
