“AAMI Accelerating AAM Research with Sapienza University”
The Advanced Air Mobility Institute (AAMI) and the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMA) at Rome’s Sapienza University, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), to advance innovation and research in air mobility.
The collaboration is “to focus on developing innovative solutions for integrating advanced aviation technologies, with an emphasis on risk management, resilience, and operational efficiency,” explains the release. “By uniting their strengths in aerospace engineering and air mobility systems, the partnership aims to tackle emerging challenges in air transport through research, knowledge exchange, and the development of new methodologies.”
Under the MOU, the institutions are to collaborate on a variety of initiatives including research projects and educational opportunities. The agreement offers Sapienza’s student body of over 120,000, along with its academic staff, the chance to engage in groundbreaking research supported by the AAM Institute’s data, tools, and expertise.
Professor Riccardo Patriarca, Scientific Coordinator at Sapienza University, commented, “This partnership will enable our researchers and students to engage in transformative projects and develop practical solutions for the air mobility sector. By fostering innovation and collaboration, we aim to train future leaders while advancing the boundaries of what’s possible in aviation.”
