“New ATA Brand for Insuring Advanced Technologies”
Insurance company, Skyrisks, has now become — abracadabra — Advanced Technology Assurance Ltd (ATA), reports a press release. The company remains based in London serving customers in major markets across the world.
This transformation aka a rebranding initiative, includes not only a new name, but logo, company values, signature and website, all occurring little more than a year after Skyrisks was first formed.
Supported by the underwriting capacity of Convex Group, the move also underscores a planned expansion into new sectors beyond aerospace where advanced technology risks require a more specialist approach.
Michael Coles, Chairman of ATA, remarked, “In a short time as Skyrisks, we achieved our goal of becoming a specialist in advanced air mobility (AAM), including unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), eVTOL aircraft, and other emerging aviation technologies. We built underwriting ‘centres of excellence’ in autonomous systems, battery technologies, electric infrastructure, and hydrogen and alternative fuels.”
He continued, “Over time we will apply our technical expertise into building fit-for-purpose, verticalised products for customers across sectors like aerospace, energy, industrial, transportation and technology as we support the future of industrial transformation, electrification, automation, and computing.”

The release comments, “The company is investing significant resources in developing new risk models, new policy language, and new coverages that enable the adoption of our customers’ technologies, services and business models. No matter what stage a customer is on their advanced technology journey, from R&D to industrial scales and beyond, ATA is a long-term partner.”
