Volocopter, Jet Systems Partner “For eVTOL Operations in France”
German-based eVTOL company, Volocopter, and Jet Systems Hélicoptères Services, announced this week a partnership to bring eVTOL aircraft services to France, reports a press release.
This long-term agreement includes an initial delivery of two VoloCity air taxis after it is certified under EASA. Volocopter will also contribute its expertise in product, maintenance, pilot training and VoloIQ, the digital backbone of fleet management and operations.
Jet Systems is to provide general airline services, including securing personnel (ground crew, pilots, and maintenance), while liaising with cities and infrastructure partners to secure operations.
The release explains, “The services are set to begin in Paris, where European and French authorities have an established and approved network of eVTOL flight routes and infrastructure.”
This security comes from many years of collaboration with Groupe ADP and multiple discussions with the Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile (DGAC), ensuring the safety of eVTOLs both in the air and on the ground.
The partnership will then extend to France’s southwest and southeast regions, to capitalise on Jet System’s proven helicopter routes which currently serve up to 15,000 passengers per year.
Andreas Fehring, MD and COO of Volocopter, commented, “With 75 percent of our EASA audits completed, Volocopter is close to achieving VoloCity’s EASA certification, to meet our customers’ expectations and cities’ commitments to bring sustainable mobilities into service.”

Michel Moulin, CEO of Jet Systems Hélicoptères Services, added, “We are delighted to partner with Volocopter to offer safe, responsible, and environmentally friendly mobility solutions while minimising the impact on local communities in Paris.”
He continued, “Users will be able to experience Paris from a new perspective and travel more efficiently. The JSHS teams have joined forces with Volocopter to provide our customers with an innovative service tailored to their needs, driven by a shared goal: customer satisfaction and environmental preservation.”
While it is great to receive an upbeat press release from Volocopter, it only adds confusion to the company’s present financial situation. One minute the German operation is moving into insolvency and the next, it is collaborating with a respected and successful partner. Which poses the question: Is Geely about to take Volocopter over?
