“UK eVTOL Developer, Sora Aviation, Secures Pre-Order for 20 S‑1 Aircraft from Korean Helicopter Operator Moviation”

UK-based, Sora Avi­a­tion, a devel­op­er of the 30-seat S‑1 eVTOL air­craft, announced this week, it has secured a pre-order for 20 craft from Movi­a­tion, a Kore­an heli­copter oper­a­tor, reports a press release. 

The two com­pa­nies also signed a Mem­o­ran­dum of Under­stand­ing to joint­ly explore the deploy­ment of the S‑1 in South Korea, start­ing with three key routes:

: Jam­sil Heli­port to Incheon Air­port.

: Yeoui­do finan­cial dis­trict to Incheon Air­port.

: Jam­sil Heli­port to Sejong City, Korea’s planned admin­is­tra­tive cap­i­tal.

South Korea presents an excel­lent oppor­tu­ni­ty for eVTOL adop­tion with dense urban cen­tres and strong gov­ern­ment sup­port. The S‑1’s high pas­sen­ger capac­i­ty and low­er cost per seat makes it a strong solu­tion for the Kore­an mar­ket, offer­ing a fast, afford­able and sus­tain­able solu­tion to heavy road traf­fic con­ges­tion.

Furqan, CEO of Sora Avi­a­tion, com­ment­ed, “The S‑1 is designed not just for effi­cien­cy, but also to ensure that urban air mobil­i­ty is tru­ly acces­si­ble to more peo­ple and not just a lux­u­ry ser­vice. This pre-order under­scores the demand for high­er capac­i­ty eVTOLs that can deliv­er equi­table access to air mobil­i­ty.”

Movi­a­tion cur­rent­ly oper­ates Jam­sil Heli­port, a crit­i­cal hub for air mobil­i­ty in Seoul, mak­ing it an ide­al launch point for future S‑1 oper­a­tions in Seoul.

The release explains, “Movi­a­tion aims to inte­grate the S‑1 into its exist­ing heli­copter oper­a­tions, increas­ing pas­sen­ger capac­i­ty while sig­nif­i­cant­ly reduc­ing per-seat costs. The part­ner­ship aligns with South Korea’s ambi­tious urban air mobil­i­ty roadmap, posi­tion­ing both com­pa­nies at the fore­front of future air mobil­i­ty.
