“VFS to Focus on Hydrogen Aviation at Fourth Annual H2-Aero Symposium”

Under the theme “pushing the envelope”, the Vertical Flight Society (VFS) is publicising its Fourth Annual H2-Aero Symposium on April 2nd and 3rd as “the most comprehensive hydrogen aviation conference,” reports a press release. Held at the Long Beach Hotel in California, the event is in conjunction with the SAE International Hydrogen Committee meeting on April 1st, which is open to all.

Details

Global leaders from hydrogen and aerospace companies will be attending. These include Boeing, H2FLY, Hydroplane, Joby Aviation, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Piasecki Aircraft and ZeroAvia. Hydrogen developers such as Aurora Flight Sciences and Unmanned Aerospace as well specialist technology companies like Gloyer-Taylor Laboratories (GTL), H2MOF, Honeywell, PowerCell and Unither Bioelectronics will also be involved.

Key government speakers include representatives from the U.S Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), as well as NASA, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Other key talks include insights from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), SAE International and the University of California, Irvine.

Mike Hirschberg, VFS Director of Strategy, remarked, “Cutting-edge innovations from hydrogen technologies to government policies will be shown from a wide spectrum of aircraft applications.”

Jesse Schneider, Chair of H2-Aero Symposium and CEO/CTO of ZEV Station, added, “Leading experts from governments, aircraft, hydrogen and fuel cell industries will present groundbreaking advances, ‘pushing the envelope’ in hydrogen aviation.”

VFS was founded as the American Helicopter Society in 1943 by the visionaries of the early helicopter industry who believed that technological cooperation and collaboration were essential to support this new type of aircraft. Today, history is repeating itself, with the Society playing a similar role with today’s revolutionary AAM aircraft.

The 2025 Symposium’s platinum sponsors are Joby Aviation, Piasecki and United Therapeutics, while GTL, PowerCell and SAE International are gold sponsors. Exhibitors include JHG Industries, M4 Engineering and PowerCell.
