seeking self-driven, passionate lead structural engineer to join our us on this journey.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee structural composite projects from early design phases through
- introduction to production lines
- Lead structural composite manufacturing activities, and support external vendors and technical partners
- Lead structural assemblies through aircraft integration
- Work closely with a cross functional project team to develop manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment, procedures, quality control points, and inspection plans.
- Improve manufacturing processes by researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment
- Define and document business processes and best practices, to establish foundation for Manufacturing Engineering
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace
- Engineering, or related technical discipline, with a focus on Composites Manufacturing, (PhD preferred)
- 10+ years of experience working as a structural or manufacturing engineer in a production environment, preferably high-volume composites, aviation/aerospace
- Comfortable working with others to create new solutions to problems; able to take experience working in regulated environments and adapt that knowledge to a new type of product and industry
- Experience with Composite part fabrication: prepreg layup, vacuum bagging, trimming, drilling, surface preparation, structural bonding, ATP/AFP
Experience in tool design for complex assemblies, layup, bonding, and automation (preferred)

Structural Engineer (Composite)

Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis by hand calculations and finite element methods.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials properties and selection as well as
- processing, including Heat Treat and Coatings for aerospace requirements
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in creation of design concepts using
- hand sketches, and CAD tools. CAD experience in CATIA (preferred)
- Perform basic measurements and simple inspection processes
- Support the development of advanced composite hardware and vehicle designs
- that include materials with tailored RF properties.
- Actively participate in development and production of composite components.
- Write engineering reports, typically to document analysis and test results
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, with a focus on Structural Engineering and Composites Manufacturing, (Master’s degree preferred)
- Five + years of experience in a relevant design/analysis/development environment, preferably for commercial aviation
- Experience with non-linear and advanced Finite Element analyses (3D woven composites) and structural dynamic analyses (sine, random, rigid body dynamics), including analytical techniques and numerical simulation tools
- Knowledge of manufacture of mechanical components and assemblies with emphasis in complex electromechanical systems, or large structures
- Experience with an understanding of the fundamentals of structural dynamics, multi-body dynamics, plasticity, and damage
- Experience analyzing composite structures
- Experience with design and fabrication techniques for composites

Skyfly Technologies
In this role, you will be overseeing the safe integration of all electric systems within the aircraft – including motors, speed controllers, batteries, flight control system and avionics.
Responsibilities:
- Wiring architecture from motors and ESCs to main batteries
- Avionics installation and wiring
- Battery installation and testing
- Undertake live working on high voltage battery assemblies
- Battery cooling system testing working alongside wider team
- Ability to monitor and analyse battery management systems
- Engaging with the wider aircraft assembly team and engineers.
Qualifications
- Needs to have experience working with battery systems for electric vehicles (aerospace applications preferred but not essential)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or other relevant discipline (not essential depending on experience)
- Experience working with HV systems and lithium-based batteries
- Strong mathematical ability
- Ability to work in a small team
