seek­ing self-dri­ven, pas­sion­ate lead struc­tur­al engi­neer to join our us on this jour­ney. 

Respon­si­bil­i­ties:

  • Over­see struc­tur­al com­pos­ite projects from ear­ly design phas­es through
  • intro­duc­tion to pro­duc­tion lines
  • Lead struc­tur­al com­pos­ite man­u­fac­tur­ing activ­i­ties, and sup­port exter­nal ven­dors and tech­ni­cal part­ners
  • Lead struc­tur­al assem­blies through air­craft inte­gra­tion
  • Work close­ly with a cross func­tion­al project team to devel­op man­u­fac­tur­ing process­es, tool­ing and equip­ment, pro­ce­dures, qual­i­ty con­trol points, and inspec­tion plans.
  • Improve man­u­fac­tur­ing process­es by research­ing, design­ing, mod­i­fy­ing, and test­ing man­u­fac­tur­ing meth­ods and equip­ment
  • Define and doc­u­ment busi­ness process­es and best prac­tices, to estab­lish foun­da­tion for Man­u­fac­tur­ing Engi­neer­ing

Qual­i­fi­ca­tions:

  • Bach­e­lor’s or Master’s degree in Mechan­i­cal Engi­neer­ing, Aero­space
  • Engi­neer­ing, or relat­ed tech­ni­cal dis­ci­pline, with a focus on Com­pos­ites Man­u­fac­tur­ing, (PhD pre­ferred)
  • 10+ years of expe­ri­ence work­ing as a struc­tur­al or man­u­fac­tur­ing engi­neer in a pro­duc­tion envi­ron­ment, prefer­ably high-vol­ume com­pos­ites, aviation/aerospace
  • Com­fort­able work­ing with oth­ers to cre­ate new solu­tions to prob­lems; able to take expe­ri­ence work­ing in reg­u­lat­ed envi­ron­ments and adapt that knowl­edge to a new type of prod­uct and indus­try
  • Expe­ri­ence with Com­pos­ite part fab­ri­ca­tion: prepreg layup, vac­u­um bag­ging, trim­ming, drilling, sur­face prepa­ra­tion, struc­tur­al bond­ing, ATP/AFP

Struc­tur­al Engi­neer (Com­pos­ite)

Respon­si­bil­i­ties:

  • Per­form struc­tur­al analy­sis by hand cal­cu­la­tions and finite ele­ment meth­ods.
  • Knowl­edge of aero­space mate­ri­als prop­er­ties and selec­tion as well as
  • pro­cess­ing, includ­ing Heat Treat and Coat­ings for aero­space require­ments
  • Demon­strate knowl­edge and expe­ri­ence in cre­ation of design con­cepts using
  • hand sketch­es, and CAD tools. CAD expe­ri­ence in CATIA (pre­ferred)
  • Per­form basic mea­sure­ments and sim­ple inspec­tion process­es
  • Sup­port the devel­op­ment of advanced com­pos­ite hard­ware and vehi­cle designs
  • that include mate­ri­als with tai­lored RF prop­er­ties.
  • Active­ly par­tic­i­pate in devel­op­ment and pro­duc­tion of com­pos­ite com­po­nents.
  • Write engi­neer­ing reports, typ­i­cal­ly to doc­u­ment analy­sis and test results

Qual­i­fi­ca­tions:

  • Bach­e­lor’s degree in Mechan­i­cal Engi­neer­ing, Aero­space Engi­neer­ing, with a focus on Struc­tur­al Engi­neer­ing and Com­pos­ites Man­u­fac­tur­ing, (Master’s degree pre­ferred)
  • Five + years of expe­ri­ence in a rel­e­vant design/analysis/development envi­ron­ment, prefer­ably for com­mer­cial avi­a­tion
  • Expe­ri­ence with non-lin­ear and advanced Finite Ele­ment analy­ses (3D woven com­pos­ites) and struc­tur­al dynam­ic analy­ses (sine, ran­dom, rigid body dynam­ics), includ­ing ana­lyt­i­cal tech­niques and numer­i­cal sim­u­la­tion tools
  • Knowl­edge of man­u­fac­ture of mechan­i­cal com­po­nents and assem­blies with empha­sis in com­plex electro­mechan­i­cal sys­tems, or large struc­tures
  • Expe­ri­ence with an under­stand­ing of the fun­da­men­tals of struc­tur­al dynam­ics, mul­ti-body dynam­ics, plas­tic­i­ty, and dam­age
  • Expe­ri­ence ana­lyz­ing com­pos­ite struc­tures
  • Expe­ri­ence with design and fab­ri­ca­tion tech­niques for com­pos­ites

Elec­tri­cal Engi­neer

In this role, you will be over­see­ing the safe inte­gra­tion of all elec­tric sys­tems with­in the air­craft – includ­ing motors, speed con­trollers, bat­ter­ies, flight con­trol sys­tem and avion­ics.

Respon­si­bil­i­ties:

  • Wiring archi­tec­ture from motors and ESCs to main bat­ter­ies
  • Avion­ics instal­la­tion and wiring
  • Bat­tery instal­la­tion and test­ing
  • Under­take live work­ing on high volt­age bat­tery assem­blies
  • Bat­tery cool­ing sys­tem test­ing work­ing along­side wider team
  • Abil­i­ty to mon­i­tor and analyse bat­tery man­age­ment sys­tems
  • Engag­ing with the wider air­craft assem­bly team and engi­neers.

Qual­i­fi­ca­tions

  • Needs to have expe­ri­ence work­ing with bat­tery sys­tems for elec­tric vehi­cles (aero­space appli­ca­tions pre­ferred but not essen­tial)
  • Bachelor’s degree or high­er in Engi­neer­ing or oth­er rel­e­vant dis­ci­pline (not essen­tial depend­ing on expe­ri­ence)
  • Expe­ri­ence work­ing with HV sys­tems and lithi­um-based bat­ter­ies
