“Aerofugia AE200-100 eVTOL Prototype Begins Production”
Aerofugia, the China-based eVTOL developer, announced this week production of its AE200-100, 6 seater eVTOL prototype has begun, reports a press release.
The news marks the completion of the aircraft’s major structural assembly and core avionics installation, bringing it closer to crewed flight testing.
The release says, “This announcement marks a significant milestone in the eVTOL’s development and signifies the AE-200–100 has entered the final stages of its airworthiness certification, pre-production and ultimate mass-production. The aircraft has already successfully completed its all-tilt transition flight test, becoming the second in the world and the first manned eVTOL in China to complete this project.”
Adding, “After completing the necessary certification, the production variant of the AE200 will begin widespread commercialisation.”
At present, Aerofugia has secured over 1,000 commercial orders for the AE200, with first-year production capacity fully booked due to strong market demand. Orders have come from major metropolitan regions in China and abroad including Sichuan Airlines, Hualong Airlines, Shenzhen City Transportation Low-Altitude Operational Center, Thailand’s SIT, etc.. At the rollout event, Aerofugia presented inaugural user certificates to these first batch of customers.

The release continues, “The prototype variant offers an innovative eight-rotor, four-tilted-wing configuration and with a range of 200 km, the AE200 is able to be utilised in areas such as urban air mobility, low-altitude tourism and emergency rescue. The electric drive system significantly reduces operating costs compared to conventional helicopters.”
Aerofugia’s Chengdu HQ is slated to begin operations next year, integrating R&D, production, testing and delivery.
