Ascendance Announces “Strategic Partnership with Helipass”

Ascen­dance Flight Tech­nolo­gies, a man­u­fac­tur­er of hybrid-elec­tric eVTOL air­craft, announced this week it is col­lab­o­rat­ing with Heli­pass, a heli­copter flight-expe­ri­ence book­ing plat­form, to devel­op the future of region­al air mobil­i­ty, reports a press release. 

This part­ner­ship “will enable Ascen­dance to offer Heli­pass users a sus­tain­able, low-car­bon alter­na­tive, there­by enhanc­ing the appeal of the plat­form to a broad­er cus­tomer base,” explains the release. It con­tin­ues, “With ATEA, its hybrid eVTOL air­plane, Ascen­dance offers up to 80 per­cent car­bon emis­sions reduc­tion, 50 per­cent less oper­at­ing costs and 75 per­cent less noise than air­craft run­ning on con­ven­tion­al fuel, with a range of 250 miles, com­pared to a tra­di­tion­al heli­copter.” 

Thibault Bal­divia, Chief Com­mer­cial Offi­cer for Ascen­dance, com­ment­ed, “This col­lab­o­ra­tion allows us to devel­op our part­ner ecosys­tem and work with a lead­ing play­er in heli­copter fly­ing expe­ri­ences to pro­mote the capa­bil­i­ties of our eVTOL air­craft in this seg­ment. It is also a way to mar­ket and help make our air­craft avail­able to oper­a­tors and the pub­lic.”

The release adds, “Avi­a­tion is a fast-expand­ing sec­tor, with glob­al air traf­fic up 31.2 per­cent in a year, accord­ing to the lat­est report by the Inter­na­tion­al Air Trans­port Asso­ci­a­tion. It is also under­go­ing major changes to meet the Inter­na­tion­al Civ­il Avi­a­tion Organisation’s goal of glob­al car­bon neu­tral­i­ty by 2050.” 

Frédéric Aguet­tant, CEO of Heli­pass, remarked, “This part­ner­ship with Ascen­dance is a chance for us to offer our users new, more envi­ron­men­tal­ly friend­ly ways to trav­el, by propos­ing an eVTOL mod­el on our plat­form.” Adding, “We’re con­tin­u­ing our push into the new era of car­bon-free fly­ing.” 

The ATEA air­craft will soon be book­able on the Heli­pass plat­form.
