EHang 216‑S eVTOL “a Highlight at Thailand’s Bangkok International Auto Show”
Social Media has been abuzz this week after doors opened on the annual International Auto Show held in Bangkok, Thailand. This is the 46th event and lasts this year from March 26th to April 6th.
The eVTOL industry is continuing to embrace the leading global automakers as its go-to bedfellow, so it is not surprising that EHang decided to display its 216‑S autonomous aircraft at the event. Especially after completing its first passenger flight in Thailand last November.
Then there is the new partnership with major automaker, Changan Automobile, in a move to diversify EHang’s product offerings. The aim is to jointly develop flying car-related products by creating an innovative line that will cater to the mass consumer market, driving EHang’s entry into the next frontier of urban air mobility.
Among the 36 different global car brands and 8 motorcycle companies exhibiting, EHang may look out of place, but social media from YouTube to Instagram, X to TikTok has seized on the chance to publicise the Chinese eVTOL company as it proudly displays in Hall 2.

VIPs and local dignitaries attending the show have already taken time to look over the EH216‑S including on Day 1, Dr. Kulaya Tantitemit, the first female Director-General of the Revenue Department in Thailand. She posed for photographs while sitting inside the craft.
Unfortunately, the New Year has not been kind to Thailand’s auto industry. In the first two months total production amounted to 222,590 units, a decrease of 19.29 percent. Vehicles exported amounted to 153,579 units, a decrease of 15.56 percent. The production of passenger cars, in particular, plummeted by 47.01, following this export decline.
However, battery electric vehicle (BEV) production has risen by 7,574 units, a 60.09 percent increase year-on-year.

Meanwhile, 2025 is already proving to be a highly successful year for EHang.
On March 21st, the company released a press release, stating it is collaborating with Guangzhou Bank to accelerate the Low-Altitude Economy with a RMB2 Billion Intended Credit.
The partnership will provide comprehensive financial support to EHang, including credit facilities, settlement and cash management as well as industry chain financial services. This will help the company to enhance its R&D, manufacturing, sales and operational capabilities within the low-altitude sector.
Two days earlier, EHang had announced its Q4 and FY2024 results which included record-high revenues; its first fiscal year of non-GAAP profitability; and eyes on a whopping 97 percent growth during 2025.
The company referred to 2024 “as a remarkable year” with new, even greater ambitions of technological advancements and product development moving forward.

These plans include:-
: A significant breakthrough with the world’s first eVTOL solid-state lithium battery test flight with collaboration from Shenzhen Inx Energy Technology. Specializing in the development and production of high-energy density (480Wh/kg) and high-safety lithium metal solid-state batteries, this partnership has enhanced the EH216‑S flight endurance by 90 percent, allowing it to reach an impressive 48 or more minutes flight time.
: A partnership with Enpower to co-develop next-generation electric motors and motor controllers to propel EHang eVTOLs to new heights, targeting an integrated design of electric motors and motor controllers with lighter weight, higher power density, superior cooling performance and broader compatibility across EHang’s eVTOL range.
