“Eve Unveils eVTOL New Seating at AIX Event”
Eve Air Mobility has chosen seats produced by aviation specialist, Recaro, for its eVTOL aircraft. The announcement was made this week at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg.
Germany-based Recaro produces aircraft seats for multiple types of airliners, including the EJet family manufactured by Eve’s parent company, Embraer. Recaro will supply four passenger seats and a single pilot one for each of Eve’s eVTOL aircraft, and has agreed to deliver a total of 75,000 for the manufacturer.
The unveiling marks a milestone for Recaro, as it expands its portfolio to support the emerging Air Mobility Market.
Designed with the unique demands of electric air travel in mind, the seat incorporates advanced lightweight materials such as high-grade aluminium, titanium and composites to support energy-efficient operations.
Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve, commented, “The UAM industry has introduced a new range of engineering challenges, including seating. This means aligning with partners who embrace re-engineering aircraft from the ground up.”
He continued, “Through our collaboration with Recaro, we’ve found new and inventive ways to make aircraft seating light enough for electric urban flights without sacrificing the in-cabin experience.”

The seat looks mundane and quite ordinary, similar to that found on a bus. It seems the eVTOL industry, as a whole, is seeking a basic and functionary seat, where only Archer Aviation — to date — is leaning towards a more luxury experience.
