GAMA Welcomes “Four New Memberships”

The Gen­er­al Avi­a­tion Man­u­fac­tur­ers Asso­ci­a­tion (GAMA), announced this week it has wel­comed four new Mem­ber­ships: Elec­tric Pow­er Sys­tems (EPS), Piv­otal, Venus Aero­space and VoltAero.

Elec­tric Pow­er Sys­tems

Found­ed in 2016, US-based EPS has its HQ in North Logan, Utah. The com­pa­ny is a lead­ing provider of high-pow­er, scal­able pow­er­trains cer­ti­fied for elec­tric air­craft.

Piv­otal

Found­ed in 2011 with its HQ in Palo Alto, Cal­i­for­nia, Piv­otal designs, devel­ops and man­u­fac­tures light eVTOLs with intu­itive and pow­er­ful con­trols. Sim­ple to pilot, the company’s tilt-air­craft archi­tec­ture and scal­able plat­form makes it a leader in its class and is renowned for the Black­Fly, the first light eVTOL to be com­mer­cial­ly avail­able and deliv­ered to a buy­er in the U.S.

Venus Aero­space

Found­ed in 2020 and based in Hous­ton, Texas, the com­pa­ny is focused on engi­neer­ing the future of hyper­son­ic flight. 

On its web­site, Venus Aero­space writes, “Most new space com­pa­nies are focused on reach­ing the stars, launch­ing glob­al WiFi, putting tourists in space, gas sta­tions on the moon, and colonis­ing Mars. We’ve got our sights set right here on earth, where trav­el is still well, light years behind space ambi­tions.”

It con­tin­ues, “We are mak­ing one-hour glob­al trans­port pos­si­ble to con­nect the world and make it safer.” The com­pa­ny has “an expert team of PhD’s, rock­et sci­en­tists and engi­neers tak­ing on the biggest chal­lenges in aero­space at Mach 9 speed.”

VoltAero

Reg­u­lar­ly men­tioned at evtolinsights.com, VoltAero is devel­op­ing the Cas­sio fam­i­ly of air­craft pow­ered by elec­tric-hybrid propul­sion. Seat­ing from five to 12 peo­ple, the craft will be pro­duced in the Nou­velle Aquitaine region of south­west France.
