Sebastien Vigneron, CEO of Wisk, enthused, “Japan is a key market for the introduction of AAM and Kaga City’s forward-thinking approach to future mobility, coupled with its special zone designation, provides an ideal environment for us to explore and demonstrate the benefits of our Gen 6 aircraft.” Adding, “This partnership is an important step towards building the necessary ecosystem for autonomous flight in Japan.”
Hiroki Haraikawa, VP of Marketing & Sales, JALEC, commented, “This three-way partnership will play a central role in realising autonomous AAM in Japanese society. Together, we will demonstrate the emerging autonomous technology and build the nationwide trustworthiness about the safety of such operations.”
Riku Miyamoto, Mayor of Kaga City, added, “Our city is a local government with a population of around 62,000 people. The advantage of being smaller than Tokyo or Osaka is there is a high degree of freedom as a R&D development region, where one-stop arrangements are possible.”
