“SkyDrive Joins Public/Private Discussion For eVTOL Operations in Thailand”
Japan-based SkyDrive recently announced its participation in public/private discussions with the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand, Bangkok Airways, Saha Group and Saha Tokyu Corps, to form eVTOL aircraft operations in Thailand, reports a press release.
This follows on from a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Thai conglomerate, Saha Pathana Inter-Holding and Saha Tokyu Corporation in June, to explore eVTOL services in the country.
The release explains, “Public/private collaboration is essential, involving not only aircraft developers but also various organisations and companies responsible for legal frameworks and infrastructure development.”
It continues, “The recent meeting was held at the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) headquarters. Representatives from CAAT, Bangkok Airways, Saha Pathana Inter-Holding, Saha Tokyu Corps and SkyDrive, exchanged information and ideas.”
Following the signed June MOU, SkyDrive is exploring business prospects for its aircraft in Thailand, focusing on locations such as Si Racha, Koh Samui and Bangkok with Bangkok Airways. A potential visit to Japan by CAAT to watch SkyDrive’s flight demonstrations is under consideration.
