Skyportz’s Aeroberm™ vertipad solution to be introduced in Japan as part of partnership with AirMobility
AirMobility and Skyportz have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance the introduction of Skyportz’s patented modular vertipad the Aeroberm™ into the Japanese market.
Announced today (Tuesday), the partnership will see AirMobility support Skyportz and contribute to the development of vertiport infrastructure for eVTOL aircraft and industrial drones in Japan.
As the commercial launch of eVTOL aircraft and large industrial drone approaches, the development of vertiport infrastructure is accelerating worldwide. Managing downwash generated during take-off and landing, reducing noise, and enabling rapid response to battery fires are critical factors in gaining community acceptance and enabling the widespread deployment of vertiports.
AirMobility aims to realize safe and efficient vertiport operations by combining the Aeroberm™ with its proprietary vertiport automation system, AirVport.
Clem Newton-Brown, CEO, Skyportz, said: “We are delighted to enter the Japanese market through our partnership with AirMobility Inc. Japan is one of the world’s most forward-looking markets for Advanced Air Mobility, and we are confident that AirMobility’s network and expertise will be a significant asset in deploying Skyportz’s technology in Japan.”
Hisashi Asai, President & CEO, AirMobility, added: “We see Skyportz’s Aeroberm™ as an essential piece of physical infrastructure for increasing the social acceptance of eVTOL and drone operations. By combining it with our proprietary AirVport, we believe we can realize safe and efficient vertiport operations where software and hardware work in concert.”
