UK ARC Aerosystems Finalises Sale of Five Pegasus VTOL Autogyro Aircraft
UK-based ARC Aerosystems, best known for its Linx P9 helicopter, announced this week a sale of five of its Pegasus VTOL two-seat Autogyro to a Scottish investor, who will lease them to a pilot training school and aerial service operator, reports a press release. ARC is committed to delivering all units by the first quarter of 2026.
The company’s website states, “The Pegasus is a result of the equivalent of USD50m investment and over 2,500 hours of test flights and has been Part 27 Type Certified by the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Agency and Transport Canada. It is the first non-helicopter VTOL aircraft to receive FAA certification.
“It was commissioned as a less fuel-hungry, quieter and safer reconnaissance aircraft by the U.S and Canadian governments. Due to a change in strategy by the American government to focus on the development of more conventional helicopters, the Pegasus was shelved. Even so, Avian Aircraft decided to continue with the program and completed the FAA and Transport Canada Part 27 certification.”
The release takes over, “ARC looks to leverage the Pegasus potential as a solution to modern challenges in rural transport and various civil contingencies. The craft offers several advantages over current eVTOL models: notably lower power consumption, increased safety, and reduced maintenance costs. Most importantly, unlike many eVTOL concepts still under development, the Pegasus is already certified and operationally proven.”
The company says, “This sale not only reflects ARC Aerosystems capability to meet current aviation demands, but also highlights its role in shaping the future of VTOL technology.”

Dr Seyed Mohseni
Dr Seyed Mohseni, Founder and CEO of ARC, commented, “The sale of five aircraft exemplifies our ability to meet the evolving needs of the aviation industry and reinforces a commitment to pioneering efficient and practical aerial mobility solutions.”
ARC Aerosystems is close to starting trial flights of the Pegasus over the coming months at the UKs leading test flight facility at Cranfield University in Bedfordshire. The company is planning public flight demonstrations at the Farnborough Airshow later this year.
