“Volocopter, Euro Flight Test Sign MOU to Launch World’s First eVTOL Training Courses” 

Volo­copter, now owned by Chi­na-based Wan­feng Group, has announced it has signed a Mem­o­ran­dum of Under­stand­ing (MOU) with Euro Flight Test (EFT) to launch “the world’s first eVTOL train­ing cours­es,” reports a Linkedin post.

This pio­neer­ing col­lab­o­ra­tion aims to set new stan­dards in pilot train­ing and famil­iari­sa­tion with eVTOL air­craft. 

The cours­es will include:-

: Ground-based eVTOL Famil­iari­sa­tion.

: Remote Con­trolled Drone Train­ing.

: Flight Test for Pilots.

: Com­pre­hen­sive eVTOL Train­ing Mod­ules.

Accord­ing to Wan­feng, a joint super­vi­sion team has already been formed con­sist­ing of air­craft devel­op­ers, senior test flight instruc­tors and safe­ty con­sul­tants. 

David Bausek, CTO at Volo­copter, com­ment­ed, ”We are thrilled to part­ner with Euro Flight Test to launch these pio­neer­ing eVTOL train­ing cours­es.”

The part­ners are work­ing to refine four core mod­ules cov­er­ing eVTOL sys­tems and oper­a­tions, drone train­ing, pilot flight test­ing and hands-on eVTOL flight train­ing.

Facil­i­ties and equip­ment are being pre­pared to sup­port class­room instruc­tion, sim­u­la­tion and prac­ti­cal flight oper­a­tions.

The pro­gram is sched­uled to open for enrol­ment ear­ly next year. The first group of par­tic­i­pants are expect­ed to include air­line pilots, tech­ni­cal spe­cial­ists and reg­u­la­to­ry offi­cials.

Wan­feng state, “The pro­gram is to pro­vide a stan­dard­ised path­way for pilot train­ing in the eVTOL sec­tor and mark a mile­stone in the devel­op­ment of urban air mobil­i­ty.”
