Watch Video: “SkyDrive Onboard Footage of Demo Flight at Osaka Expo”

Japan-based eVTOL devel­op­er, Sky­Drive, released this week onboard video footage from one of its series of demon­stra­tion flights at the Osa­ka Expo between July 31st and August 24th, reports a press release. 

The flight last­ing just over 5 min­utes, took the SD-05 eVTOL air­craft up and out from the Expo’s ver­ti­port and over the ocean in Osa­ka Bay. The film cap­tures the SD-05 fly­ing, the Expo venue, and the sur­round­ing coastal scenery.

One of the demo flights took place in the pres­ence of vis­it­ing VIPs includ­ing: Hiro­fu­mi Yoshimu­ra, the Gov­er­nor of Osa­ka Pre­fec­ture; Kazunori Tana­ka, Chair­man of the Diet Mem­bers’ Asso­ci­a­tion for the Pro­mo­tion of Unmanned Aer­i­al Vehi­cles; Yoshi­ro Taguchi, Direc­tor-Gen­er­al of the Avi­a­tion Net­work Department/Japan Civ­il Avi­a­tion Bureau; and Furuichi Shigeru, Direc­tor of the Advanced Air Mobil­i­ty Office.
