Archer Hosts Federal AAM Interagency Working Group, Showcases Live Flight Test
Archer Aviation hosted a U.S Federal Interagency Working Group on Monday (July 3rd) at its flight Test Facility in Salinas, California, reports 50skyshades.com.
As part of the visit, the attendees witnessed a live flight trial of Archer’s first eVTOL Maker and learned more about the company’s approach to aircraft design, safety and certification. The delegation of federal stakeholders featured more than 70 representatives from the DOT, White House, FAA, NASA, FCC, DOD, NTIA and other agencies who met with over 20 Archer executives.
The Biden Administration formed the Federal AAM Interagency Working Group to meet the requirements of the Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act, passed by Congress and signed into law last October.
The article states, “The working group supports the goal of achieving safe integration of Advanced Air Mobility into the national airspace and ensuring that the U.S. maintains its global leadership position in the aerospace industry. This is being done in order to grow new transportation options, amplify economic activity and jobs, advance environmental sustainability and new technologies and support emergency preparedness and competitiveness.”

The group’s primary objective is to develop a comprehensive national strategy that aligns with the FAA’s goal of achieving the safe integration of AAM into the national airspace by 2025.
Adam Goldstein, co-Founder and CEO of Archer, commented, “It was inspiring to see the level of support from across the federal government focused on ensuring the safe entry of eVTOL aircraft into the U.S market in 2025. For many of our guests, this was the first time they’ve been able to witness an eVTOL aircraft flight in person.” He added, “Our showcase emphasised just how far along we are, and demonstrated the safety and low noise advantages of eVTOL aircraft.”

Archer has set ambitious goals for itself, aiming to deploy an impressive fleet of 6,000 aircraft by the year 2030, helped by its partnership with United Airlines, who has already committed to purchasing 100 eVTOL aircraft with, no doubt, many more sales in the future. Together, they plan to launch “trunk” routes from airports to city centres.
Meanwhile, Archer’s confidence with its technologies and vision was highlighted at the recent Paris Airshow. Its Midnight eVTOL Aircraft was a resounding hit with both the industry attendees and, more importantly, the public. The tweet below sums up the company accolades and success it enjoyed.
