BETA Technologies, General Dynamics Collaborate “to Advance Next-Generation Undersea Propulsion”
BETA Technologies recently announced it is collaborating with General Dynamics Applied Physical Sciences to support a classified project focused on developing advanced propulsion systems for undersea vehicles, reports a press release.
The release explains, “This program expands BETA’s electro-mechanical engineering work beyond aviation, building on years of demonstrated success powering high-performance, high-reliability aircraft. Under the partnership, BETA will manufacture and deliver hardware along with engineering services.”
It continues, “BETA’s work with the Department of Defence (DOD) spans multiple years and mission sets, including operational experimentation with the Air Force’s AFWERX and Agility Prime programs, as well as participation in several invite-only joint military exercises with the Air Mobility Command and Air Combat Command.”
Kyle Clark, BETA’s Founder and CEO, commented, “This partnership reflects the trust we’ve built through years of demonstrated performance. From flying across the country on electric power to meeting the mission needs of our military partners, we’ve shown what our propulsion systems can deliver in the air and now, we’re excited to contribute to the next generation of undersea systems.”
BETA has developed and flown its proprietary propulsion system across multiple airframes, including its ALIA CTOL and VTOL aircraft. These systems are designed for long life, low maintenance and high operational reliability.

The release adds, “BETA’s aircraft demonstrated an availability rate over 99 percent during mission-driven operations and deployments with the U.S military, including personnel transport and critical resupply at Duke Field, Eglin Air Force Base.
“BETA is also the only company in the industry to have both U.S Army and Air Force test pilots fly its aircraft, an operational milestone that validates the engineering and performance of its systems in mission-relevant environments.”
It is rumoured by aviation website, aircurrent.com, that BETA is soon to float on the NYSE. Certainly, a company worth investing in.
