China: Geely’s Aerofugia Unveils eVTOL AE200 Aircraft at BEYOND EXPO
Aerofugia, the China-based eVTOL owned by automaker Geely, unveiled its AE200 Aircraft at the ‘BEYOND International Science and Innovation Expo’ at Macau two weeks ago, reports militaryaerospace.com.
Dr. Guo Liang, CEO and Chief Scientist of Aerofugia, attended the event and delivered a keynote speech where he emphasised the aircraft company’s commitment “to integrating technological innovation with practical applications.”
He commented, “The AE200 will offer more choices and better solutions for the rapid development of urban air mobility. Aerofugia will continue to drive the advancement of AAM, innovate constantly and bring greater benefits to people’s lives.”

The AE200 is a 5–6 seat tilt-rotor eVTOL aircraft developed to airworthiness standards. It is designed to be a zero-emission, low-noise and frequent commercial operator for city and suburban areas. The craft is described as “a broad, top-mounted wing and four long propulsion pods, each with a propeller at each end. The front bank of props is capable of tilting fully horizontal for cruise flight, and the inner two pods are connected by a rear wing and extend back into vertical tail fins.”
The AE200 has gained strong support not just from the CCP, but from other countries worldwide. Aerofugia, alongside other Chinese-based eVTOL companies like EHang and AutoFlight, is quickly becoming a major player in China’s electric aviation industry. What makes this aircraft different from others is the higher number of passengers it can carry.
Earlier this year, Aerofugia successfully completed its first trial flight and started the AE200’s lengthy certification process.
